Define, develop and maintain Configuration Management Matrix to securely store Configuration Item (CI) data and to provide accurate information for risk assessment and defects resolution
Develop and promote the value of Configuration management policies, processes and procedures within the program to ensure compliance and reduce risk
Implement effective processes and controls for maintaining the Configuration Management Matrix, thereby maintaining the integrity and security of the configuration management
Undertake regular audits of the Configuration Management Matrix and configuration item data and develop and implement processes to remediate non-compliance and ensure the database reflects the correct environment parameters
Maintain the accuracy of the Configuration Management Matrix and ensure others comply with agreed policies, procedures and processes for its use
Manages configuration items (CIs) and related information
Investigates and implements tools, techniques and processes for managing CIs and verifies that related information is complete, current and accurate
2. Environment Management:
Develop process to track dev & test environments required for development & QA
Create short-term plans to deliver environments to support sprint-based / release-based development
Coordinate activities of developers & testers to automate the setup and configuration of dev & test environments
Monitor and guarantee uptime of dev & test environments
Provide ongoing support for dev & test environments
Communicate dev & test environment availability to project management and quality/delivery assurance
Develop KPIs to track efficacy of dev & test environment delivery efforts
Resolve conflicts between teams competing for limited development & testing resources
Move dev & test environment activities toward a goal of 100% automation
Capable of providing estimates for on-boarding of new component delivery to dev & test environments
Design systems to support continuous delivery and adapt dev & test environment management to support on-demand, self-service automation
Forecast environment requirements based on anticipated future demand from multiple application development teams
Focus on scheduling accuracy with the ability to keep a constantly shifting dev & test environment calendar up to date
Ability to estimate work effort required to bring dev & test environments to readiness
Able to communicate efficiently with program stakeholders
3. Code Management / Version control:
Provides technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for client engagement from definition phase through implementation
Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients
Experience managing Version control tools like SVN, JIRA
Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions
Creates and executes development plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
Keeps project manager well informed of status of development effort and serves as liaison between developers, architects and project manager
Ensures technical teams are contributing to the code library
Owns the development lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout the project
Communicates and enforces coding standards
Performs code reviews and mentors’ junior developers
